Interesting use of Garlic

Swollen ankles/feet end of a long day?

Vampires may not appreciate garlic but it sure does have many health benefits for humans. It is widely popular for its heart healthy, cholesterol reducing, and immune boosting benefits. Although there are conflicting studies on the effects of garlic on serum LDL levels, a recent randomized trial did not see much difference in LDL levels of people who consumed approximately 4 g clove equivalent garlic for 6 months. It is wise to follow a low animal fat diet in addition to incorporating adequate amounts of physical activity daily to safely lower cholesterol levels. However, my favorite use of garlic supplements (odor controlled) are for preventing and treating lower leg/ankle/foot swelling. A friend of mine who is a flight attendant shared her secret on preventing and treating lower extremity swelling due to fluid retention from lack of movement or prolonged sitting/standing. Concentrated odor controlled garlic 1000 mg seems to do the trick. Aim for pure supplements that do not use toxic additives. (I am currently putting together a list of common toxic ingredients to avoid in vitamins and supplements.) Stay tuned!

Warning: Not for edema secondary to cardiac/renal causes.

Eye strain and more…

Chrysanthemum Tea

Chrysanthemum is a tea not only popular in Asia but growing in popularity in Greece and United States of America. It is derived from a gold flower and is known for its extensive healing benefits. It cools and soothes the body from the inside out. It is commonly used for healing the eyes. Soak a cotton in the tea and apply topically to tired eyes to decrease eye strain. Can be consumed orally for detoxifying and cooling benefits. The tea also aids in decreasing blood sugar and digestion.

The Journey To A Healthier Lifestyle

Thanks for joining me!

Together we can educate one another to live a natural life as much as possible. Without the use of toxins and added chemicals, we can enable our body to function to its fullest capacity. The goal is to aid in prevention of disease, minimize toxic side effects, and promote health & beauty.

I have created this blog for informational purposes only. I grew up in a multicultural home with Armenian, Russian, Greek, and Persian influences that nourished my interest in natural and integrative medicine. I hope to create a virtual space where men and women can inform and learn from one another on the natural options available for our daily health and beauty needs. May you take my experiences and knowledge obtained on this topic with a grain of salt and use it to the utmost benefit.

By cleansing your body on a regular basis and eliminating as many toxins as possible from your environment, your body can begin to heal itself, prevent disease, and become stronger and more resilient than you ever dreamed possible!ā€ Ā ~Dr. Edward Group
