Cherry Juice Benefits

Tart cherry juice has been known to not only possess anti-inflammatory properties but also aid in sleep for those of us that suffer from insomnia. It is vital to avoid any juice with added sugars. It is best to juice an organic option if available. According to a 2012 study, pain from Osteoarthritis was reduced when participants consumed tart cherry juice twice a day for 21 days. Tart cherry juice can be sour as the name implies, so adding honey or diluting with water can make it easier to drink.  A recent study on the effects of Montmorency Tart Cherry juice for the treatment of insomnia concluded that it increased sleep time and sleep efficiency. Cherry juice procyanidin B-2 inhibited IDO, increased tryptophan availability, reduced inflammation, and may be partially responsible for improvement in insomnia.
